What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a building material that was used in the 60s until it was banned in 1999. It's a hard-wearing material that contains minerals and microscopic fibers.

Is asbestos safe?

If left alone asbestos has no risk to you. There is only a slight risk if you interfere with it or damage materials containing asbestos. This is because fibers released from the minerals cause diseases when you breathe them in.

Don't worry we regularly inspect homes and we'll let you know if your home has, or is likely to have asbestos.
