Staffs Housing coffee mornings: new 2023 dates announced!

Date: 05/12/2022

This year our Housing Team have visited schemes and villages across our communities to meet and speak to residents over a cup of coffee.

Our coffee mornings are a new initiative that are part of our customer engagement strategy. It's one of the ways we’re staying in touch and making sure you live in a home and community that you’re proud of.

Colleagues from across Staffs Housing attend, so the mornings are a great opportunity for you to ask questions, share feedback, raise concerns or simply put a face to a name.

Housing Manager Laura Dalton is part of the team who launched the sessions, which will continue next year.

“The coffee mornings were received really well with residents,” said Laura.

“They've helped break down barriers by giving us the opportunity to sit with residents individually and catch up over a coffee.

“If they have any issues we can talk through them and come up with a plan or a solution.

“It’s one of the ways were making sure voices are heard and that residents have a chance to influence our services.”

Inflation was at a 41-year high in October and is driving the rising cost of food and energy prices. Laura said that the coffee mornings have helped make sure residents have the support they need.

“They’ve been a way for us to check in with residents and be there for them If they need any support. Our Money Advice Team have attended and given expert help too.”

“It’s also meant that we’ve been able to identify projects that matter to residents.

“We’ve made changes to the bistro, completed environmental cleans, overhauled gardens at certain schemes and completed a renovation of a community room.

Resident Sue attended West End Village’s coffee morning in February and said she enjoyed meeting staff.

“Everyone I met at the coffee morning was really friendly,” said Sue.

“It was great to see them taking our feedback on board and be willing to make changes for everyone at the village. It’s nice to know you matter and it shows that Staffs Housing care.”

The team are continuing the events in 2023 and will soon be coming to a scheme near you:
