Mystery solved! The reason why abseilers were spotted on Bradeley Village’s roof is revealed

If you live at Bradeley Village, last month you may have spotted a very unusual sighting.
In March, abseilers zip-lined their way to Bradeley Village to complete a complex repair on the roof.
Residents reported the repair after issues were causing a draft and letting water in after heavy rain.
Property Surveyor Dan Whitmore explains how we got to work to investigate and resolve the issues for residents.
“Once residents had reported issues to us, we got to work to investigate the cause of the problem”, said Dan.
“We soon realised that the repair would be more complicated than we initially thought, requiring an abseil team to fix the issue.
“Ceilings at Bradeley Village are over 10m tall in some places, so for safety reasons we needed to instruct an abseiling team who could effectively tether and keep our contractors safe.”
Dan shares more about how the abseiling team completed the repair.
“On the day, contractors got access to the roof via the rear garden area between the village and Unwin Terrace”, continued Dan.
“This was the lowest point of access for the team as it’s only two stories high.
“Once up on the roof, the contractors walked across the roof to access the repair site, while tethered safely to each other.
“The team were there for over six hours in total, and did a great job on the day and helped to repair issues raised.
"There are still a few minor adjustments needed to provide a longer-term solution but please know we're committed to solving this for residents."
