The results are in! Take a look at the winning gardens of 2023.

This summer we re-launched our gardening competition after its success in previous years. The competition celebrates all of your amazing green spaces both big and small, and the amazing impact they have on your health and wellbeing.

This year it came back with a new category ‘best newcomer’ along with nicest garden, best plant display, nicest communal garden and best allotment meaning there were even more ways to win. With a winning prize of £50 and a runner-up prize of £25 for each category too.

It was a great year for entries with lots of you applying from across our schemes and communities in Staffordshire, Cheshire and the surrounding areas.

Our judges got together and we're excited to say our winners and runners-up have now been told and given their prizes.

We visited the nicest communal gardens winner Michael to present his winning certificate and prize.

“I’m so chuffed to win”, said Michael.

“The gardens at our scheme are so lovely. They’re a quiet space that my neighbours and I can relax and wind down in.

“I love gardening and wanted to make the space nice for my neighbours to enjoy.

“I planted some trees and shrubs. Then when I attended the garden competition launch event, I also picked up some free wildflower seeds that I planted, and they flourished.

“I’m so grateful to win this voucher and can’t wait to spend it on making the garden look great again next summer.”
