What the team do
While on site, the team carry out regular maintenance including grass cutting, hedge and shrub trimming, litter picking, managing communal green spaces, checking tree safety, maintaining bin stores and drying areas, and identifying outdoor repairs or safety concerns that need attention. The team visits schemes regularly throughout the year, typically twice a month during the summer and once a month during the winter months. If you’re lucky enough to have your own private garden, caring for it is all part of making your house feel like home and enjoying your outdoor space in your own way.

Your FAQs answered
We’ve answered some of the questions our Gardening & Estates Team are most often asked to help you better understand how we care for communal gardens, green spaces and shared outdoor areas across our communities.
If you’re lucky enough to have your own private garden, you’re responsible for maintaining and caring for that space yourself. This includes looking after lawns, flower beds, hedges and general garden upkeep.
Having your own outdoor space gives you the freedom to personalise it and truly make it feel like home, whether that’s planting flowers, creating a seating area or simply enjoying your garden in your own way.
If you notice concerns such as an unsafe tree or an issue affecting safety outside your home, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
Our Gardening & Estates Team are responsible for maintaining communal gardens and shared green spaces across our schemes and communities.
The team visits regularly throughout the year to carry out work such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, seasonal maintenance and general upkeep to help keep shared spaces tidy, safe and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.
We ask all customers to help us care for communal areas by respecting shared spaces, disposing of waste responsibly and reporting any issues they spot.
If you notice a problem in a communal garden or green space, please let us know so we can help.
In the summer, the team typically visits twice a month, although this can vary depending on weather conditions and the needs of the community.
In the winter months, the team aims to visit all schemes at least once a month to maintain the outdoor, communal, and green spaces.
Our Gardening & Estates Team are focused on keeping communal spaces clean, safe and well maintained for everyone to enjoy. While the team does not provide a bulky waste or fly-tipping removal service, they may arrange for items to be removed where they become a health or safety risk.
Removing dumped items can take the team away from their regular gardening and estate maintenance work, which means less time spent caring for communal green spaces and communities.
That’s why we ask all customers to help us keep communities looking their best by disposing of waste responsibly. If you have bulky items to dispose of, please use your local household waste and recycling centre or arrange a bulky waste collection through your local council.
If you witness or spot fly tipping in your community, please report it to us so we can investigate and help prevent it from happening again.
If you live in one of our communities with communal gardens and have spotted a tree that’s becoming overgrown, please get in touch to let us know. Our Gardening & Estates Team visits schemes twice a month and can make sure it’s reviewed as part of their regular maintenance visits.
If you’re lucky enough to have your own private garden, keeping trees, hedges and bushes neatly maintained is part of caring for your outdoor space and making it feel like home. Why not trim them yourself, or ask a friend, neighbour or family member to lend a hand if needed?
If a tree appears unsafe, damaged or looks as though it may be dying, please report it to us as soon as possible. The team helps manage tree safety across all homes and communities and can arrange an inspection where necessary.
Our Gardening & Estates Team help maintain communal bin stores and drying areas across our schemes to make sure they remain safe, tidy and ready for everyone to use.
This includes helping keep these shared spaces clean, identifying safety concerns and reporting maintenance issues where needed.
We ask all customers to help keep these areas pleasant for everyone by disposing of waste correctly and respecting shared facilities.
If you spot an issue with a communal bin store or drying area, such as damage, safety concerns or cleanliness issues, please report it to us so we can help.
We are responsible for maintaining gutters across our homes and communities. Regular gutter cleaning and maintenance helps prevent issues such as leaks, damp and mould, and keeps homes protected throughout the year.
Our teams carry out routine gutter maintenance, but if you notice a blockage, overflowing water or any concerns with your gutters, please report it to us as soon as possible.
We’ll arrange for the issue to be inspected and, where needed, cleared or repaired to help keep your home safe and in good condition.
If you have a shed, greenhouse or other garden structure within your private garden, you are responsible for maintaining and looking after it.
Keeping garden structures safe, secure and in good condition helps keep your outdoor space enjoyable and prevents potential safety concerns for you and your neighbours.
If a shed or greenhouse becomes unsafe or damaged, we’d encourage you to arrange repairs, maintenance or removal where needed.
