What the Estates Team has been working on this March

Dan Kemp

Keeping your communities safe, clean and looking their best remains a key priority for our Estates Team. Throughout March, the team has been busy carrying out repairs, improvements and seasonal maintenance across our neighbourhoods.

Estates Team Leader Dan shares an update on some of the work completed recently and what customers can expect over the coming weeks.

Keeping on Top of Gutter Repairs

The team has continued carrying out gutter repairs across a number of schemes and communities, responding to both reported issues and problems identified during inspections.

By dealing with blocked or damaged gutters quickly, we can help prevent larger maintenance issues developing later on.

Fence and Gate Repairs Across Communities

We’ve also been working through fencing and gate repairs following customer reports and site visits.

Every request is carefully assessed before work is carried out, helping us make sure repairs are needed and completed where they’ll have the biggest impact for customers.

Spring Planting and Scheme Improvements

March marked the start of several environmental improvement projects designed to brighten up shared spaces ahead of spring and summer.

This includes:

  • New planting to the rear of The Outlook in Bradeley
  • Fresh planting at Church Gardens, Florence Mews and Little Row
  • Turfing works across selected schemes to improve green spaces

These improvements help create more welcoming outdoor areas for everyone living in our communities.

Tackling Fly-Tipping Together

The team has recently completed several deep cleans of bin store areas, but fly-tipping continues to be an issue in some neighbourhoods.

Removing dumped waste takes significant time and money away from other important services such as:

  • Garden maintenance
  • Fence repairs
  • Gutter maintenance
  • Community improvements

We’re asking customers to help by disposing of waste responsibly. Bulky items should be taken to local recycling centres or collected through your local council’s bulky waste service — not left in communal areas or bin stores.

If you witness fly-tipping or know who is responsible, please report it to us so we can help prevent repeat incidents.

Additional Grit Bins Installed

Following customer feedback, extra grit bins have now been installed at several schemes to help communities prepare for colder weather later in the year.

Safety Repairs at Oliver Lodge

After reports of loose paving slabs at Oliver Lodge, the team carried out further investigations and identified additional repairs that were needed.

More than 20 paving slabs were re-laid immediately to remove potential trip hazards and improve safety for residents.

Grass Cutting Season Begins in April

Grass cutting services will restart from 7 April, with the first planned cuts taking place at:

  • Bradeley Village
  • West End Village
  • Rowan Village

The team will continue working through the wider schedule across the coming months to help keep communal green spaces tidy and maintained.
