What the Estates Team has been working on this January

Gardening Maintenance

Keeping your communities safe, accessible and well maintained remains a priority for our estates team throughout the winter months. During January, the team carried out seasonal maintenance, winter weather support and environmental improvements across a number of schemes and neighbourhoods.

Estates team leader Dan shares an update on some of the work completed recently and what customers can expect over the coming months.

Supporting residents during winter weather

During the recent winter weather and snowfall, the team carried out snow clearing at several schemes across the New Year period to help residents move around safely.

Keeping pathways and communal areas accessible during periods of severe weather remains an important part of supporting customers and reducing potential safety risks.

Tree safety improvements across schemes

This month, crown lifting works were completed on a number of trees at:

  • Malcom Court
  • Bishops Court
  • Drakeford Court

Additional tree works are already scheduled at further schemes, with more improvements planned over the coming months.

Following a resident request, the team also removed a large conifer tree at Allenby Court.

Regular tree maintenance helps improve safety, visibility and the overall appearance of communal outdoor spaces.

Preparing for winter improvements

Looking ahead, a programme of winter improvement works will begin across multiple schemes from February, with completion expected by 31 March.

Planned improvements may include:

  • turfing works
  • new planting
  • removal of overgrown shrubs
  • general landscaping improvements

These works are designed to improve shared outdoor spaces and help create cleaner, greener and more welcoming communities for residents.
