What the estates and gardening teams have been working on this February

Dan Kemp (1)

Keeping your homes, green spaces and shared areas safe, tidy and well maintained continues to be a priority for our estates and gardening teams. Throughout February, the teams have been carrying out seasonal maintenance, repairs and environmental improvements across our communities.

Estates team leader Dan shares an update on some of the work completed this month and what’s coming next as we move towards spring.

Continuing seasonal scheme visits

Throughout February, we’ve continued our winter maintenance programme across all schemes and communities.

These visits help us identify seasonal issues, carry out essential upkeep and make sure communal areas remain safe and well maintained during the colder months. One final winter visit is planned in March before our grass cutting programme restarts in April.

Gutter cleaning and repairs

The team has been carrying out gutter repairs and full gutter cleans using specialist equipment to help prevent leaks, blockages and winter weather damage.

Regular maintenance helps us protect homes and buildings from avoidable issues caused by overflowing or damaged gutters.

Fencing improvements across communities

We’ve also completed a range of fencing repairs and replacements following customer requests and issues identified during estate walkabouts.

By responding quickly to damaged fencing, we can help improve both safety and the appearance of our neighbourhoods.

Help us tackle fly tipping

Fly tipping continues to be an increasing issue across some of our homes and schemes, and we’re asking customers to help us tackle the problem.

Leaving bulky waste in communal areas can:

  • attract pests
  • create safety hazards
  • impact the appearance of neighbourhoods
  • cause inconvenience for other residents

Please make sure bulky waste is disposed of responsibly through your local recycling centre or by arranging a bulky waste collection with your local council.

If you witness fly tipping or know who may be responsible, please report it to us so we can work together to prevent repeat incidents.

Fly tip removal and deep cleans

The estates team has been responding quickly to reports of dumped waste and removing fly tipping identified during inspections and walkabouts.

Keeping communal areas clean and safe remains an important part of maintaining welcoming neighbourhoods for everyone.

Planned tree works nearing completion

Most planned tree maintenance work has now been completed, with only a small number of jobs remaining before March.

These works help us maintain healthy green spaces while also ensuring trees remain safe and well managed across our schemes.

Preparing for spring improvements

As we move towards spring, the team has started ground preparation works ahead of planting and landscaping improvements planned for later in March.

These seasonal improvements will help freshen up communal spaces and support greener, more attractive neighbourhoods heading into the warmer months.
