Last Monday, our Chair of the Board joined staff and residents in Longton for one of our regular scheme walkabouts. They’re a chance for customers to chat with their neighbourhood officer and property team about their homes and communities.
These visits are really important to us. They help us listen to your feedback, spot any issues that need attention, and make sure we’re acting on the things that matter most to you.
To help our Board stay connected with what’s happening in our neighbourhoods, our Chair joined Neighbourhood Officer Sharon Wain and Gardening Team Leader Dan Kemp for the visit. Together, they spent time meeting customers, looking at local issues, and talking about how we can continue improving your communities.
Listening and taking action
At Church Gardens, the team spoke with residents about an ongoing antisocial behaviour case. Our Chair was able to reassure customers that we’re working on the issue, carefully balancing the needs of everyone involved and working with other professionals to find a long-term solution.
Residents were given advice on how to record and report problems properly, and information about using the Noise App was shared. We’ve already followed up on some of the concerns raised, including fly-tipping, moss outside one of the blocks, and bin issues, which are being dealt with by our teams.
Spotting repairs and maintenance
Across Longton, we also identified a number of repairs and maintenance jobs, including an unroadworthy car which has now been made roadworthy after chatting with the owner, issues with security lights, an overgrown garden, and overgrown tress.
From the walkabouts, our Neighbourhoods Team spotted a few overgrown gardens, and wanted to remind tenants that it’s their own responsibility to maintain and ensure their gardens are kept clean and tidy. Helping keep our neighbourhoods looking great for everyone.
Working together in your communities
The day was a great opportunity for our Chair to see the fantastic work our teams do and to hear directly from you, our customers. It’s really important to us that our Board members understand your experiences and see the difference that local action makes.
We’ll continue holding scheme walkabouts across our neighbourhoods, making sure your voices are heard and acted on.
