At Staffs Housing, we know that putting a face to a name makes all the difference. Our Neighbourhood Officers are here to support you, your home, and your community, and today we’re introducing Nat, one of the friendly faces behind our Moorcroft team.
Nat is the Neighbourhood Officer covering the Moorcroft patch. If you live in Bradeley Village, you may already have seen Nat working from the local customer hub. She regularly works on duty there, helping with neighbourhood enquiries and offering support face-to-face, giving customers the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the team and feel more confident about reaching out when they need help.
What do Neighbourhood Officers do?
The Neighbourhood Officer role is all about being visible, approachable and proactive within our communities. Nat can help with issues relating to your home, neighbourhood concerns, anti-social behaviour (ASB), tenancy matters and money advice. She is there to listen, guide and work with you to find practical solutions.
We understand that it can sometimes feel daunting to raise concerns or ask for support. That’s why building strong relationships is so important to us. By being present in the community and creating opportunities for customers to meet the team, we aim to break down barriers and make sure you know exactly who to contact and how we can support you.
25 years of experience and expertise
Nat has worked with Staffs Housing for over 25 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her current role. She first joined the organisation after graduating from university, taking on what was initially a maternity cover position as an Admin Housing Officer. Six months later, that temporary role had turned into a long-term career.
After her time in administration, Nat moved into the Housing Support Team in Bradeley Village, where she worked closely with customers and colleagues, acting as a bridge between support services and housing management. She later supported schemes in Keele and the Hartshill area, working with residents including medical professionals living in our homes.
Nat then became a Void Officer, managing empty properties and ensuring they were brought back up to relettable standards. This role gave her valuable insight into repairs, safety standards and what it takes to prepare high-quality, affordable homes that customers can be proud to move into. She later moved into a general housing role, managing her own patch in the community before joining the Moorcroft team under our new Neighbourhood Model in May 2024.
Thinking out the box
Nat says one of the things she enjoys most about her role is that no two days are ever the same. Her experience across different teams allows her to think outside the box and approach situations from a well-rounded perspective. Her understanding of how repairs and maintenance processes work means she can offer informed advice and practical support when customers raise concerns about their homes.
Most importantly, Nat is passionate about helping customers feel supported and heard. She is committed to ensuring your home remains a quality, affordable place that you feel proud to live in.
If you see Nat out and about in your neighbourhood, why not stop and say hello? We’re proud to have experienced, approachable officers like Nat working in our communities, and we look forward to you getting to know the faces behind Staffs Housing.
