Investing in your homes: planning improvements that matter to you

Kitchen Replacement

We’re committed to making sure your home remains safe, comfortable and a place you can feel proud to live in. That’s why we continue to invest in planned improvements across our homes and communities, focusing on quality, safety and long-term affordability for our customers.

This work is led by Senior Property Surveyor Steve Wright and the dedicated Planned Improvements team at Staffs Housing.

Their role is to carefully plan and deliver improvements that maintain standards, enhance living environments and ensure homes continue to meet customers’ needs now and in the future.

While some improvements focus on essential safety and maintenance, others help improve the overall look, feel and comfort of your home, all part of our commitment to providing quality homes you can be proud to live in.

This month, there has been good progress across several programmes. Our kitchen replacement work is underway, with homes already completed and further properties being prepared for surveys ahead of installation.

Window replacement works are currently on site and close to completion at Rookery Court, Hazelwood and Unwin, with additional works planned at Oakwell Court and Garden Court once start dates are confirmed.

Alongside this, we’ve secured funding to replace fire doors across a number of schemes to further strengthen safety, with the first locations scheduled including High Lane and Norton Avenue and more schemes planned to follow.

We’ve also received some lovely feedback from a customer at Abbots Court following their new kitchen installation. They shared: “My new kitchen is beautiful. I can’t praise the team enough for their work – they were fantastic.” Feedback like this is a great reminder of the positive difference improvements can make to customers’ homes and everyday lives.

Have your say
Listening to customers is a key part of how we decide where to invest. Your feedback, experiences and conversations with us help shape our priorities and future plans.

Completing your home survey is also one of the most important ways we understand what improvements may be needed in your home, both now and in the future. The information we gather helps us plan investment and prioritise work where it matters most, which is why it’s really important to book your survey if you haven’t already.

We want customers to feel confident that we’re not only maintaining homes, but actively investing time and money to keep them safe, affordable and fit for the future. Whether it’s something that could be improved in your home or an idea to enhance your community, hearing from you helps us focus on what matters most.
