We’re proud to be a member of ‘Homes for Cathy’ - a national alliance of housing associations and homelessness charities dedicated to raising awareness of the needs of homeless people.

We’re working to meet 9 commitments for Homes for Cathy, which are helping to shape and develop our policies and practices on ending homelessness.

Homes for Cathy was formed to mark the 50th anniversary of the influential Ken Loach film, Cathy Come Home in 2016. The film led to a public outcry about the problem of homelessness. Housing associations were formed up and down the country, initially run by volunteers.

Many have since become large providers of badly-needed affordable homes.
The Homes for Cathy group works with the National Housing Federation, Shelter, Crisis and other groups campaigning for homeless people.

We're a member of Tpas – England’s leading tenant engagement experts.

We’re a member of the National Housing Federation, which represents other housing providers across England.

Through a variety of campaigns they run, such as #fixthehousingcrisis, they work to improve affordable housing and invest in neighbourhood projects that help to create vibrant and strong communities.

We’re part of PlaceShapers – a group of community-based social housing providers.

As a member, we promise to meet their five principles:

  • Our residents and customers are at the heart of what we do and have genuine impact on our organisations.
  • We listen and provide more than just landlord services because we care about people and places.
  • We build homes that respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
  • Working collaboratively and actively with our local authorities and other local partners enables us to improve and shape places at both a strategic and operational level.
  • We are run by members, for members and are committed to a diverse, values-driven housing association sector.
