Right to Buy and Right to Acquire your home

Depending on your circumstances, you might be able to buy your Staffs Housing home at a discount either through the Right to Buy, or Right to Acquire scheme.

Two Front Doors

What is the difference between 'Right to Buy' and 'Right to Acquire'?

Depending on your circumstances, you might be able to buy your Staffs Housing home at a discount. There are two ways to do this:

  • Right to Buy is for customers who have a secured tenancy, and whose home was originally owned by a Local Authority before it was transferred to Staffs Housing.
  • Right to Acquire is for customers who have an assured tenancy.

If you're unsure what your tenancy type is, you can find it in your tenancy agreement.

There are eligibility criteria you must meet before you can purchase your home.
