Today, your feedback inspired us to roll up our sleeves and get to work in Churchbank Gardens and Madison Gardens.
You told us that litter was building up, fly-tipping was becoming an issue and some areas of the community needed some care. So, colleagues from across Honeycomb Group joined our Staffs Housing Gardening Team for a Community Day to make a real difference.
Together, we:
- Cut back an overgrown tree that was blocking a communal walkway, making it easier and safer to get around.
- Cleared an area affected by fly-tipping, removing bulky waste and litter.
- Refreshed the communal gardens.
- Collected several bags of rubbish from the surrounding streets.
Because when you tell us something isn't right, we take action.
The Community Day wasn't just about tidying up. It was about spending time in your neighbourhood, listening to what matters to you and working together to create a place everyone can feel proud to call home.
Throughout the day, many of you stopped to chat with us, share your thoughts and even keep the team going with refreshments. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us – it was fantastic to spend time in your community.
We also met Sam and June, who have lived in the community for 19 years and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. They said:
"It's lovely to see people out here supporting the community and looking after us as tenants. It really shows that people care."
