Staffs Housing continues to strengthen its commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and supporting communities through our ongoing ASB surgeries. Since launching in November last year, we’ve held six surgeries across our neighbourhoods – with the latest taking place this April at Oliver Lodge in Stoke.
The session proved to be one of our most engaging yet, with over 14 residents attending to speak openly about concerns around ASB, noise nuisance, and hate crimes. The morning was led by our ASB Specialist Nic, with support from The Neighbourhood Team and Customer Voice Specialist Jayne, who was on hand to ensure residents' voices were heard and their feedback acted upon.
“Our residents have a lot to say, and rightly so,” said Jayne, Customer Voice Specialist. “It’s vital we not only listen, but act on what we hear. It was great to have honest conversations about what’s working and what needs improving – and to even welcome a new potential customer voice volunteer to help shape our future services.”
The team took away three potential ASB cases to follow up on and noticed a strong desire from residents to better understand how to report issues. Some shared frustrations about getting through on the phone, so Nic and the team gave a live demonstration of the reporting process, showing that while there may be a short wait, it's often shorter than expected.
“It’s about breaking down barriers,” said Nic, ASB Specialist. “We want customers to feel confident and supported when raising concerns. Sessions like this give us a chance to build trust and show that help is available—and it works.”
The session also featured Harmony, a local ASB support specialist, whose presence offered even more personalised advice and support for residents.
Thank you to everyone at Oliver Lodge for making the session such a success. Your voice matters – and together, we can make our communities even stronger.
