From Steve, Senior Surveyor at Staffs Housing
At Staffs Housing, we’re proud to continue investing in our homes to keep them safe, high-quality, and affordable for our customers. Here’s a look at the positive progress we made in April and what’s coming next.
Kitchens and bathrooms
April marked a fantastic milestone for our kitchen programme, with all 2025 planned kitchens now successfully completed, bringing modern, functional spaces to more of our homes.
We’ve also hit the ground running with the future programme. Our first batch of 2026 kitchens is now underway on site, and the second batch has already been allocated, meaning even more customers will soon benefit from upgraded kitchens.
Our 2025 bathroom programme is continuing to progress, and while we’ve had some challenges contacting a small number of customers, we’re working to resolve this and keep improvements moving forward. As part of this, four homes at Bradeley Village are being upgraded from standard bathrooms to wet rooms, supporting accessibility and comfort.
Windows, doors and safety improvements
We’re delighted to confirm that all 2025 window and door replacements are now complete, improving warmth, security, and energy efficiency across our homes.
April also saw strong progress on our 2026 programme, with external doors now with our contractor and the first batch of 2026 windows being allocated. Priority improvements are being fast-tracked to ensure customers benefit sooner from upgraded, high-quality windows.
Safety remains at the heart of everything we do. This month, we completed and signed off all fire-stopping works, ensuring homes continue to meet the highest safety standards.
We’re also ready to begin new fire door installations, funded through the RCGF programme. These works have been awarded to Beechwood Fire, with a pre-start meeting scheduled to get things underway across several sites.
Looking ahead
We’re continuing to invest in our buildings too. In April, we awarded the contract for the lift replacement at Oliver Lodge, with plans progressing to begin work soon, another important step in improving accessibility and reliability for customers.
All of this work reflects our ongoing commitment to invest in your homes, maintain high standards, and keep you safe. We’re proud of what’s been achieved in April and excited to continue delivering improvements in the months ahead.
