Last year, we launched a new initiative to bring our teams closer to you and your neighbourhoods, which saw us successfully visit 230 communities.
In November 2024, we introduced scheme walkabouts, monthly visits from our Neighbourhood and Property teams to ensure your communities remain safe, well-maintained, and welcoming.
These walkabouts are about more than inspections. They’re a chance for you to meet our staff face-to-face, share concerns, and talk about issues that matter most to you, whether that’s repairs, maintenance, antisocial behaviour, or general improvements.
In just 12 months, our teams have visited 230 communities, listening to you and taking real action on the things that matter to you, like tackling fly-tipping and waste issues, supporting with overgrown gardens and trees, responding to repair and maintenance concerns, and improving the overall look and feel of neighbourhoods.
One resident told us: “It’s great to see that Staffs Housing staff are out and about in the community. It really shows you care. You’re not just sitting behind desks, you’re actually here, seeing and listening to what we experience every day.”
Giles, Head of Customer and Neighbourhoods shared he’s delighted with the impact: “We’re really pleased to see how well the initiative is working for our communities. It’s great that our customers are finding the walkabouts useful, and that they’re helping to improve our neighbourhoods in the ways that matter most to our customers and the people who live there. It’s just another way for our customers to get in touch with us, which is why we’re pleased to relaunch them this year for another 12 months.”
Thanks to the success of the scheme, we’re pleased to confirm walkabouts will continue throughout 2025–26, with a new calendar making sure every scheme is visited, giving all of you the chance to get involved.
