Our Board has a crucial role in developing our strategy, setting our objectives, overseeing operations and placing customers at the heart of our business. Board monitors our performance and risks, and ensures that we deliver on our promises.
Board Members
Rhian Hughes (BA (Hons), MLitt) - Chair
Rhian has been a senior manager in a large local authority housing department in the UK, and a founding Chief Executive of a housing association providing high quality housing for people with special needs. She is now responsible for running a partnership between the NHS and a local university to undertake research on the health needs of people who suffer from musculoskeletal pain or disability. Throughout her working life, Rhian has been concerned to ensure that large organisations are run so that they are properly responsive to the needs of the local population and deliver services of the highest quality.
Bill Finney (AMHSM. Dip. HSM. JP) - Deputy Chair
Bill has had a career in senior management in the health sector and is now a retired NHS Chief Executive. He is also a Justice of the Peace and has served on the Probation Board.
Alan James (Fellow CIMA) - Chair of Audit Committee
Alan currently runs his own accountancy business specialising in help for small businesses, as well as lecturing in finance, innovation and business at Staffordshire University. Previously he spent 38 years in financial, strategic planning and general management roles. Alan is also a board member of Staffordshire Probation.
Roger Clowes
Roger’s working life has been spent in the not-for-profit and voluntary sector, latterly as an independent consultant. His key interest areas are management and organisational development, including executive coaching. He is currently an associate with the National Housing Federation. Roger has previously worked as a volunteer counsellor with Saneline and as a carer with the Winged Fellowship.
Iris Barcroft
Iris worked as Regional Manager for Touchstone Housing Association in North Staffordshire for many years before her retirement. She is Chair The Furniture Mine, a successful local furniture re-use charity, and a member of several committees in the area.
Simon Harris
Simon, our longest serving board member, is Chief Executive of Stoke on Trent Citizens' Advice Bureau. He is also Chair of ASIST, a charity which provides advocacy services in Staffordshire.
Jane Tipping
Jane is Senior Joint Commissioning Manager for Stoke on Trent City Council and Primary Care Trust. She has previously worked in a number of health service management posts around the West Midlands. Jane is passionate about older people's housing and services and is particularly skilled in planning and service development.
Maureen Berry
Maureen has worked in school health for 15 years and is currently a school counsellor working with young people with emotional difficulties for Stoke-on-Trent PCT. Maureen is dedicated to young people, their health, development and mental health issues.
