To rent a home with Staffordshire Housing Association, you need to apply to join our housing register.
You can download a registration form opposite. Remember to include all the documents we ask for with your form when you send it back to us, or we won't be able to process your application.
If you would like to find out more before applying, please call our housing team on 01782 744533.
If you're looking for a 3 bed house, we're sorry but we can't take your application. We are short of 3 bed houses and we've had to close the register for them.
How we let our homes
We use a choice based lettings system. You can find out more about choice based lettings by downloading our guide opposite. In the meantime, here's a very brief overview of how it works:
Once your application is accepted, we will send you a vacancy list every two weeks.
When you see a home that you like on the vacancy list, you need to register your interest (which we call 'bidding') as quickly as possible before the stated closing date.
You can register your interest by phone, text, letter, email, in person, or on our dedicated website at Sha-Select.
On the closing date we look at all the bids. We then give first refusal to the person who has been on our register the longest*.
*Sometimes we give priority to homeless people, people with urgent medical needs or people with other specific circumstances. We show this clearly on the vacancy sheet.
